On this day in 1916 - the year this photo was taken - Albert Einstein published "The foundations of the general theory of relativity." The 54-page paper, which appeared in Annalen der Physik, was the first comprehensive description of the theory.  Now, almost 100 years later we are finally finding the gravity waves to perhaps prove this theory?
